Community

Asia Iron Australia (AIA) prides itself on establishing and maintaining close working relationships with the communities in which it operates.

Infrastructure for our Extension Hill Magnetite Project stretches between Mount Gibson and the Geraldton Port, crossing several Native Title claims, a large number of private landholdings, and land held variously by local and other government instrumentalities.

AIA believes that our reputation and working relationships with these and other key stakeholders is critical to a successful operating future in the mid-west region.

AIA has a preference for supporting on-ground activities hence our continuing support for the following organisations:

Gunduwa Regional Conservation Association (GRCA).
The GRCA has members from a range of community interest groups and has been established with the objectives of enhancing biodiversity and regional sustainability values in the area surrounding the mine site.

The GRCA operates in an area of approximately 2,600,000 hectares bounded by Morawa, Beacon Wubin and Paynes Find.
